Inogashira Goro is a salaryman who loves seeking out soul food wherever he is on business. We follow him as he satisfies his cravings, diving into izakayas, casual dining restaurants and sushi bars!
The stories are focussed on Inogashira san’s voracious appetite and introduces us to various set meals that each establishment is famous for – the illustrations are incredibly detailed, you can almost reach in and grab the chopsticks!
The atmosphere in the manga is quite subdued with a sense of weariness in Inogashira san – he even gets in to a brawl in one story and we see his anger strike out. This is quite different from the subsequent television series in which the atmosphere is very light hearted and humourous, with Inogashira san painted as constantly alert and chirpy (except when his stomach starts growling).
